Yeah, it has more balls than the current gen consoles lol

Though, in my opinion, one of the cooler features is Remote Play. Being able to play PS3 games through the PS3 wirelessly on the Vita's screen. I can't wait biggrin.gif Someone is always taking the damn TV in my house.

Even the PSP's remote play was impressive. Now I can stream more content on a bigger screen.

Definitely recommend the console. I was lucky to have a friend overseas who shipped it to me ( so I paid Japan prices plus shipping, not overpriced import store prices ). I got Uncharted Golden Abyss ( fully in English ) , Ultimate marvel vs capcom3 and lord of apocalypse.

Uncharted is AMAZING, so for this game alone and Gravity daze I recommend a Vita.

PS: I was so hooked on Uncharted that I got platinum lol.

It's even got a fantastic launch lineup of games. Honestly, its the most varied and solid launch lineup of games in over 7 years I think. The PS3, 360, 3DS, and PSP had really meh launch title games. The Wii had a few like Zelda TWP and Red Steel, easily the most interesting lineup at the time, but the Vita has quite a varied selection. And a number of them too.
The hardware is touted as amazing, with only minor preference differences.
The software is really impressive.
The battery isn't anywhere near as bad as previously predicted.
Sony is already showing support with promises of Netflix. Probably VUDU and Hulu to follow (why not?).
PlayStation Suite allows mobile app developers to convert to Vita with practically 1-touch conversation. Cross platforming ftw.
This device is like a dream come true! Can't see the problem here.

Just maybe's:

1. Hidden cost: MMC price. (270 dollars for a "functional" VITA)

a 3DS is easier to swallow at a 100 Dollars cheaper.

2. Not the best backwards compatibility support. Stuck with PSN PSP games, no PSOne Classics support ATM.

a 3DS can play your DS cartridges your UMD's are probably "wasted". You'd still have to lug your PSP for BBS, FFVII:CC

3. Browser isn't that good compared to other PMPs (Note, Touch).

4. Hardware "potential" is just that atm: Potential.

..

Just pointing out 3DS since its a direct competition (and Touch and Note as indirect competition)

I'd give the VITA more time to mature so it can be a more worthy buy for me. Plus games would be discounted by then.

Am I missing any amazing MPs on it by not being an early adopter where that game's MP base is almost dead in a few months? or are VITA games mostly SP?

Don't get me wrong. I like the VITA and gonna get one later (maybe 2nd gen). But its a little tough pill to swallow just to game on the go ATM.

Really depends on most peoples gaming habits as well I guess. Probably AT HOME is still where most gaming happening goes and on the go, one's already pre occupied with their phone games.

..

Did Sony really say they're gonna be putting netflix on it? I'd love that.

Netflix:
http://www.gamespot.com/events/ces2012/story.html?sid=6348342
I'm really hoping for a Hulu announcement next. Or Vudu.

The memory cards are a stickler, no doubt. It's the one thing that I really frown at Sony for. They did reduce the prices though from what was initially listed by Gamestop.
While the 3DS is cheaper, no one in Japan had problems buying the PS3 over the 360 when it cost $600. If anything about the 3DS in Japan in relation to Vita sales, it's Monster Hunter.
The browser of the PSP was never good either. I don't think Japan really minds that.
I'd say Uncharted more than enough to show potential.

BBS and FF7 are supposedly getting digital treatments for the Vita too. Not sure when, which sucks, but that was last I read. And then of course, there is the UMD trade in program.

There is an MP game called Unit 13. It's made by the SOCOM people. It's co-op style game. Little Big Planet, ModNation, and UvMC3 will also be MP too. Not sure if you'd be 'missing out' by that.

AMAZING
I must have this thing ~now~.
That battery life is double what I and most people have been expecting. Playing Uncharted no less.
And Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3? Holy hell!!
60FPS, vsync, full 960 x 544 rendered resolution, 3D models levels and animations pulled from the original game. Save for some alpha blending and static background sprites, what they're saying is close to a 1:1 port of the game basically. ~Unheard of~
I'd import it for $500 right now had I not spent so much money on gifts for everyone else this holiday. This thing is way better than I expected.

I'm excited to see what happens to this powerful little handheld. I don't know if I'll buy one in February when it comes out in the US, but I know I'll definitely want to get one over the next year.
