Journey to 4.0Ghz with Phenom II 955 - Page 11

So is linX very reliable on if your system is stable as compared to Prime95? Was just wondering since I kinda don't wanna let my comp run on all night and if LinX is really that great on seeing if you OC is stable with a shorter amount of time why does everyone still suggest 12-24hr Prime95 Blend tests?

I have a personal grudge against Prime95. Just don't like it. Never ran it for 12 hours though....

Yeah, so far a lot of my tests haven't gone past 4 hours on prime and I'm not sure what else to do to keep it stable other then lowering my clocks.

I use LinX to stress test my Ram.
Prime95 takes longer but is much more thorough.
I also use ITB as a preliminary before Prime95.

Do you run Prime95 using the blend option? or do you use custom settings for a 12-24hr test?

I run LinX on max memory for 20 runs. It takes about an hour. I don't mess with prime95, LinX does the trick for me.

yea 10mins is pretty much enough (for max temps)
all else that will happen is the hot air will accumulate inside the case.
I've ran Prime95 for 8 hours before, it topped out at 48°C after 2-3 mins.
