manual HT link speed limit= 1600mhz?

Thread Starter
I get 2000mhz with "auto" setting, if i set it in BIOS manually my rig wont POST.

Getting the same result with my B55 in 870a-g54 and TA890FXE, is this a cpu or voltage issue?

2000MHz is where it should be, and there aren't really any performance gains by increasing the HT Link speed. However, it is very unusual to need to adjust the voltage related to HT Link so I would say no on that part.
Just to be clear, you're saying that 2000MHz works fine on auto but will not work at the same speed with it manually set, right?
If this is the case, I'd rule out a CPU issue. Maybe try resetting CMOS on the boards or flashing/reflashing the boards with the most recent bioses.

Meh, I read it somewhere the HTlink speed is "auto negotiable" with the auto setting, i'll try updating the bios first-

thanks.

That's odd. Anyway it really makes no difference even if you keep the HT link at 1600Mhz smile.gif
