Find yourself an unmolested bios and start over, one that has not been modified using RBE.

Try this command;
atiflash -i
this will display all ati cards installed and the port numbers.

"adapter not found"

just tried blind flash but i think i did something wrong =(

i tried

atiflash -f -p 0 6950.bin
atiflash -f -newbios -p 0 6950.bin

tried "atiflash -i" and got an "adapter not found"??

Maybe the BIOS you use is not the correct one or corrupted. Download the BIOS from here, select your model;

http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?page=1&architecture=ATI&manufacturer=Sapphire&model=HD+6950&interface=&memSize=2048

Then try with the BIOS switch #1 and #2.

Use ATIFALSH.

Uninstall all Catalyst driver to prevent conflicts from BIOS-Driver-Registry check.

Do this before you flash;

  • Uninstall Catalyst. Select "Express Uninstall".

  • Delete these folder;
  • C:\user\Program files or (x86)\ ATI or AMD.
  • C:\user\ProgramData\ATI or AMD (need to show hidden files).

  • Turn off UAC
    Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > change User Account Control Settings > move the slider to bottom > restart PC.

  • Clean it with; ATIMAN Uninstaller Atiman Uninstaller v.6.2.0 (Run with administrator privilege. Some antivirus software will give a false positive. Let it restarts to complete the uninstallation - Disable UAC to install this cleaner).

After successful flash;

WHY did you FLASH a Sapphire HD-6950 in the First Place ? headscratch.gif

The 1536 Shader UnLock is ON the 2nd BIOS from the Sapphire Factory ... you DO NOT NEED to FLASH a Sapphire Card !

You just FLIP the SWITCH to BIOS #2 and then MANUALLY OC the card the rest of the way to 880/1375/1536 (HD-6970) Levels of performance and beyond. doh.gif

And what did you do ? FLASH a new BIOS onto BOTH Positions #1 AND #2 ? *** ! ? doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Did you at least SAVE a COPY of your ORIGINAL BIOS at ALL ?  You can MAYBE try some of the BIOS we have in my SAPPhIRE TOXIC HD-6950/70 Owners Club ... at least they are SAPPHIRE 6950 and 6970 BIOS's.

IF you honestly can't return that DIRT3 card BACK to its ORIGINAL STATE ... then it's time to BEG AND PLEAD Sapphire for an RMA even though YOU screwed the card up, maybe IF you don't tell them this, they might send you a new replacement ? or try with the Retailer you bought it from ?

OY ! ... GOOD LUCK !  confusedsmiley.png

Make sure you flash the BIOS switch #1.

Not the #2, because it's a backup BIOS = no touch  graduated.gif

Because #2 = cane toad  oneeyedsmiley02.png
