I fully support your right to support AMD even when AMD is losing in the technological wars right now. It's a dynamic thing and I expect AMD to be in the forefront once again and support from those such as you who stand by them in tough times is necessary and valued otherwise there would be a monopoly and Conroe would be much more expensive than it is.

I do not have product loyalty. Which ever company gives me the best for the least is the company I support. Either way, we are neither fanboys.

I appreciate you giving me your definition of a fanboy and realizing the difference between one and a supporter. Fanboy has seemed to develop into the choice jab around tech forums anymore.

You get a tip of my hat for once again being a level headed guy Ropey

After all the arguing I still have to comment that this is the worst suite I have EVER seen.

This is not true. It was Q2, then Q3 and now Q4. As well, you just said that one of their plans is K8L in the next 4 years along with K10. Then you said in the next 3 months. Which one is it?

Do you mean K10 in the next 4 years and K8L in the next 3 months? Intel will have released how many new processors by then?

R
Was Core 2 a new architecture? Not exactly, will the core 3 and so on be? Probably not, but people still view it as one.

But AMD has been saying all along Q4 2006 for 65nm. You misunderstood. 65nm in 3 months, K8L in 9 or so months, K10 sometime in 2008.

I did not misunderstand. You were very unclear. One needs to miss the clarity to misunderstand.

You provided the grounds for the lack of clarity in your very ambiguous statement.

You said that AMD will release 2 entirely new archectures in the next four years. This was your only timeline. Then you predicated that time for the two processsors K8L in 9 months and K10 by 2008. Where do the "Four Years" come into play? This was my contention.

Now you say

It is clear that you are unclear in your two statements. Anyone versed in logic can see this. Can you not see it?

Ropey, please drop this attitude of going for peoples throats over the slightest error or point of dispute. Human beings are not perfect, they cannot all maintian rigid standards all of the time

"9 months" and "2008" fall inside a window over the next 4 years, giving some room to manoeuvre launches around. 4 years is the set timeframe, 9 months or so and 2008 are the estimated times within those 4 years that new products will launch. Simple, huh?

This is a news forum for discussion of news. Now you may not like my method muffin.

That is your right. You are a moderator. You are trying to moderate my method of seeking truth in news? The only way you can do this sir, is to outright ban me for seeking this truth.

No, what you said is not simple as it is in error with regards to the stated timeline, unless one predicates that statement it in those terms. They were not stated in those terms, and as such the prior statement was open to confusion.

Muffin, you use of the term "Simple" in an arrogant way to disagree with someone, as you are saying that the way you think is correct and simple (with regards to this discussion) and by extension anyone who does not see this the way you do is in error or unable to see what is simple. That is not a polite way to discuss. It uses arrogance and a moderator would be best served without use of this method lest problems of power and control come into play personally.

If one checks my post in this thread which Jori responded to with a subsequent quote of my post, then I have the right to respond to that quote for clarity when a case of ambiguity arises.

I did not begin the posting between Jori and myself and I wanted clarification of his unclear statement which he then proposed I misunderstood.

I then showed how his words were unclear and that clear words need to be spoken for one to misunderstand them. This was not the case.

Then a moderator stepped into this discussion and attempted to gag me and used a method that is arrogant. I responded to that method. I will at all times respond to those who attempt to gag a fair method of discussion and I will at all times respond to those who use methods of belittlement or arrogance to attempt to gag. If I was to say "Simple, eh" to you after this statement it would be arrogant. IT WAS arrogant to be used on me as well.

EDIT: Let me be clear here. The only bone of contention with muffin's post was the
