1090t bsod 3.7ghz bf3 only

Thread Starter
so i have a rather crappy mobo and its limited me on ocing my fairly decent 1090t. I think i got a pretty shady chip as well. I have prime95 it at 3.7ghz for 18hours straight with great temps and no bsod i also used another cpu stress test. I cant remember what it was called but i ran it for 12 hours. Never hit over 52.c In any case have been able to play crysis, crysis warhead and skyrim with everything at ultra 1080p never a bsod. I play battlefield 3 and every half or or so i get a bsod. I need this cpu to hold me out for another month until all my parts for my i7 3930k arrive. I backed her down to 3.6ghz to see if it helps but what is causeing it. I have my vcore at 1.425 volts, which is ample for 3.7ghz if i am correct. I know this mobo has a very bad vdrop but am i causing any harm to the cpu every time she bsods on me.

You may not need that many v for that speed. Normally 3.5-3.7 is easy with stock volts. I think I can do around 3.7 with stock volts, which in my case is around 1.325V.

Are you sure your memory is stable BTW? And what temps are you checking, core or cpu?

Also BSOD error code if possible.

doesnt sound like its ur cpu to me. if you have run prime95 for that long and had no problems, then it is probably something else. I had a similar problem to yours a while back and couldnt get any responses from anywhere i posted. I ran hours and hours of stress tests, did folding, did play tests with every game i owned, and experienced no problems. And of course a spent 3-4 hours messing with drivers and SLI and got the same results. Then as soon as i got into BF3 i would BSOD after 10 min. After extensive testing and research i found that my problem ended up being related to realtek audio drivers. When i plugged a sound device directly into my motherboard, i would get the problem. However when i left my headphones unplugged, or uninstalled realtek drivers, or used a usb headset, i had no problems. So i have been playing with my logitech g35 for a couple months now and have had no problems. I suggest you just unplug all of ur sound stuff and see if your problem persists. good luck

I'm going to have to try this. I've only BSOD twice on BF 3 but, I've done prime 95 for 18 hours stable. thanks for the info

Not sure if this will be any help but here goes. When playing Skyrim my pc would lock up after not too long into a game, raised the fan speed for the vid cards manually and it solved the issue.
