9.83 v on +12v? - Page 3

Also just looked at the HW monitor in BIOS and the PSU readings are where they should be. However, Speedfan still says otherwise... So now I know for sure not to use that. lol

Running furmark and prime 95 will only test a system if you leave the GPU with enough CPU cycles to feed it some work. That is not a proper way to test a PSU at all. What you will want to do is check the rails in your bios. If those are suspect I would recommend testing with a digital multi meter if at all possible.

If temperatures are causing an issue perhaps change the TIM on the card and or clean out the heatsink. You can also open up the chasis and aim a house fan into the system to ensure it is being cooled as much as possible.

The other thing to test if at all possible is putting a different and lower power GPU in your system and seeing if it is stable. Or testing your card in a different system to see if it is stable in that config.

Software readings are not always accurate, but in a case like this where you are getting performance issues and or crashing I would check with software and confirm with a DMM if at all possible.

Really? I was kinda guestimating by this thread and the psu calculator:

So the little guy should be fine for a bit longer, huh? thumb.gif

you can pick up a cheap OCZ refurb. they're older designs but will power your rig no problem. 20 bucks for a refurbed 600w stealthxtreme? not terrible
