[Kotaku] THQ Says it has "Not Cancelled" its 2014 Lineup

Over the weekend, a giant rumour popped up claiming that major publisher THQ was effectively done for. Specifically, it suggested the company's entire 2014 lineup had been shelved, and that its major MMO project based on the Warhammer 40K franchise had been binned.

Today, THQ refutes those rumours.

The company's statement in full reads:

"THQ has not cancelled its 2014 line-up, and has not made any decisions regarding the planned MMO. As part of the ongoing review of our business, we have made decisions to ensure that the company is strategically addressing the most attractive markets. As we have previously announced, we have dramatically reduced our commitment to the kids' boxed games sector which leads to a significantly more focused release schedule moving forward. Our slate for calendar 2012 and beyond is focused on high-quality core games and continues to build our digital platform and business. We are excited for our pipeline of original and high-quality content along with our relationships with some of the best talent in the industry."

Good to hear things are not canceled.

It says they havent made a decision about the MMO. I would expect them to cancel it with SWToR, Guild wars 2, WoW expansion, and diablo 3 (i know its not an mmo but has a lot of the same player base) It is a tough market and we all know how the other War hammer MMO went.

Saints row the third was definitely a great game (still is). Can't wait for the fourth. THQ can have all my money as long as they continue the series.

For goodness sakes THQ, give relic funds to release CoH 2. It is, by far, the only professional RTS that has the potential to compete with SC2. It won't reach SC2 ladder, but it will be a great competitor in the eSport's world as an alternative to SC2.

The first paragraph made me hold my breath. COH is the best RTS of all time.

I must agree, if you haven't tried CoH, then you are seriously missing out on some great and unique RTS gameplay.

For me the best RTS will always be C&C Tiberan Sun but CoH is amazing as well.
(hopefully Generals 2 will offer a nice change of pace from such a butchered franchise)
