Thread Starter
Hey guys, new to the forums and just got back into PC gaming. Did a ton of PC gaming when I was younger then got into consoles when my PC got old.

Picked up a new rig a week or 2 ago and wanted to see what you guys thought of my build. Family member owns a CPU store and built it for me. On a budget so keep that in mind with how good it is hahaha

1100T OC to 3.5ghz

ASUS M5A97

8G Kingston HyperX 1600

MSI TwinFrozr II R6950 2G

580w PSU

With a 23" 1080p monitor, I spent $1300. Alot of extra's like a custom recovery disk, free extended warranty. Its got all the bells and whistles with a big Coolmaster heatsink and all the fun stuff.

What is the power supply brand ?
580 watts seems uncommon.

Nice build, although the PSU seems kinda low.

500 watts should be plenty enough.
Just don't push that 6950 too hard.

Nice rig, congrats.

Nice build, I'm a fan of the 6950's myself, I also have the M5A97 evo It's a really great MOBO. Did you unlock the shaders on your GPU? Also 500w PSU should be plenty but I always go over that for OC needs (your CPU would be happy at 3.8 GHz) , you might need a higher one in the future. Other then that your rig can do it all congrats NICE AMD build. thumb.gif
