Crossfire and 3d

Currently, im running crossfire 6850's. I just bought a new monitor (Samsung S23A750D). I should have it by the end of the week.

My question is does crossfire work with 3d using tri def? I was reading somewhere that the new driver 12.1 is now working with crossfire 3d. Please let me know your thoughts

Yes AMD and AMD CF can run 3D, as well as NVIDIA.
As for Tri-Def, seen as your getting the monitor already, give it a try. Just use latest drivers and CF profile (If needed). Should work!

i was looking at the same monitor and was hoping to order mine thursday. when you get it , can you post back here or pmme how you like it and how the 3d works out?

thanks, i did not realize Tri Def software came with the monitor. Cant wait to get it, it was just shipped out today

Here are my thoughs on the monitor and 3d

  • The monitor looks very nice, i like the touch screen on the base
  • The monior does not have built in speakers, you need to buy some external speakers
  • 3d was a little tricky to understand at first. I hit the 2d to 3d conversion and did not notice a huge difference
  • I found out about the Tri Def software that is bundled with the monito but is not the full version
  • Tri Def software can be downloaded from there website, it comes with the media player as well. It is better than the bundled software that comes with the monitor
  • I turned on 3d virtualization thru the Tri Def Software to improve the frame rate performance

Everything is working amazing now. Skyrim has never looked this good. Even my wife was impressed with the 3d in Skyrim.
