Folding question - Page 3

Thanks to whoever suggested the "-config" flag on the FH shortcut icon. I sure appreciated it, it allowed me to configure the console with an addition of more RAM to one of my machines.

Edit: Has anyone noticed any speed up folding with a 64 bit OS ? I have WinXP64 on my x2 4200 and WinXP 32 bit on the rest of my machines. I'm currently building a AMD 3000+ ( for 24/7 folding) and if there's no difference I'd like to give Ubuntu linux a shot, I have a current (unactivated) copy of WinXP Home. (I know, Ubuntu has a 64 bit OS) What's the best way to speed up folding ?

As far as I am awear folding on a 64bit OS offers little to no improvement as F@H is 32bit process?

Yeah, you're probably right. Even running two instances on two cores it would probably depend on the machines cpu speed. I haven't noticed any difference in using WinXP64 or WinXP32 on my AMD X2 4200+. When I first started folding, about two weeks ago, I had Win32 on my X2 4200+. After about 2 weeks I put WinXP64 on the 4200 and kept WinXP32 on my PD805 and an old P4 2.60 GHz. I'm currently building a AMD 3000+ folding machine (running 24/7) and I wondered if it would be worth it to go with WinXP64 ?
