As far as I know only Samsung s23a950 is compatible with full HD 3D for ATI cards (60fps 1080p 3D). That's the monitor I have and I have to say it's pretty nice, only problem is its pretty glossy, so during the day with blinds open you can see a reflection of yourself/room. Otherwise it's nice.

The sa750 is just as capable as the sa950 for both 120hz 2D and 3D. The major differences I have noticed are the looks of the monitor itself and the dvi support. If your graphics card has a display port don't worry.

Edit: what makes a good monitor is mostly opinion and can differ from eye to eye. Commonly used terms for 3D performance are ghosting and cross talking. You want these at a minimal for optimal quality. Also look for quick response time and a good contrast ratio doesnt hurt.

Thanks guys +rep,

another thing, is there a difference between the S23A750 and S23A750D?

Edit: because all the models in australia are listed without the "D", but even samsung doesnt have a model without the D listed on their website

also what cable should i be using...

my graphics card has HDMI 1.4a and a dual link DVI port, so if i were to buy the samsung s23a750 (which at the moment i will), i would have to use display port or HDMI, is HDMI good enough for 3d gaming?
You do not want to use hdmi for 120 Hz 3D gaming. Either DVI, or Display Port. Only thing is the SA750 only comes with HDMI and DP, but no DVI like the SA950 has.

yeah but im not about to pay $100 extra just for a different stand and DVI-D....

ill use the display port, ill have to buy a dual link dvi to display port adapter right?

edit: well or buy a display port cable, or is it included with the monitor?

my graphics card has:

"
1 x Dual-Link DVI
1 x HDMI 1.4a
1 x DisplayPort
1 x Single-Link DVI-D
DisplayPort 1.2
"
