[VR-Zone] Rumour: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 to release in February - Page 11

Weird, I heard Kepler was already released last Christmas and is so fast that it doesn't even need a cpu. Should I make a news thread? I mean, I heard all of this from the guy at the McDonald's drive-thru, but he knows his stuff.

^Hello from a fellow seattle resident. I really hope this rumor is true because I just picked up a BenQ XL2420TX. Looks like I'm joining the green team. I hope they scale well in crossfire.

If this is true, I'm pretty stoked for the benchmarks. Need to upgrade my 4850s and I'm not making a move until I see the hard evidence of which cards are better. I'm usually and AMD/ATI guy but I don't mind which as long as I get the best performance.

If you can figure out how to make them work in Crossfire, you really need to be hired by Nvdia tongue.gif SLI would be easy, but what you're describing would be an achievement! thumb.gif

I'm not sure if your being a smart arse (crossfire hahaha)or if your saying nvidia won't scale well. With the excellent scaling of the 7970's I'd be shocked if nvidia released a card that didn't scale well or comparable to the 7970. All the rumors keep saying that they will be better and they are not impressed with the 7000 series. If this 680/780 doesn't scale well it will be an absolute disaster for nvidia with so many higher end display options these days needing sli/crossfire configurations to take advantage of the displays.

I think you meant to say SLI. He was just making a joke.

He was implying you cannot crossfire Nvidia cards, because crossfire refers to AMD's version of SLI.

Companies usually leak random info to various sources to see where the leak is.

It probably happened with amd and the xdr2 ram (spelling?).
