AMD Llano APU's! - Page 11

How come there isnt anyway taking names and posting a list for the APU Llano club like other clubs. I am a little disappointed that the thread starts out saying that I havent seen an APU club and then name it APU Llano club but not make it a club. How come there is no list of Llano owners and their clocks??? This is a little disappointing.

I also have a question about memory compatibility. I have a 3870k, asus f1a75-m pro, and 8gb of corsair vengeance 1600 ram on the way. I have heard of memory compatibility problems with this board. Does anyone know if I will have any problems with this ram and board? I have never had any problems with compatibility with asus boards and corsair ram but I have heard other people having problems with this board. Anyone have any feedback???

Thank you.

^Mike to answer your questions:
  1. I, as a club owner myself, totally agree with you regarding the fact that this isn't a "real" club. With that being said, if you want to manage this club yourself and start a list and whatnot, I'm sure you can PM the OP about taking it over and get with a forum mod shortly after to make it happen; it's how I became the owner of the NZXT Classic Series Club, after all. wink.gif
  2. Regarding the memory compatibility, you shouldn't have any issues, but you likely will if the memory timings are a bit unusua or if the voltage is. What are RAM specs? If the timing is CAS 9 then I wouldn't worry much about it, but if they're something like 8-8-8-24, 7-8-7-24, or with an unusually low voltage like 1.35v (or anything below 1.5v for that matter) then you're likely to run into compatibility issues.

For this, I apologize, I have been very busy, and dont really have the time needed to give this thread what it needs. I thought an amd APU club would be cool, you can always make one yourself, and I will gladly change the title... If I had more time I would be adding names and lists and all kinds of other things but am a little to busy ATM mad.gif If you would like to start an actual club for APUs, I say go for it! any people will join and will appreciate it thumb.gif

Hey mike, well, I have that same MB and CPU with 4x Corsair Vengeance 4Gb 1600 for a total of 16 Gb and so far so good (I only got a hiccup when I installed a new gpu, it was beeping me a memory error but without the gpu its fine. anyway, I got that fixed with trial an error)
EDIT: the GPU was a ASUS EAH6670 1Gb GDDR5

@RedSunRises, I have taken the liberty of creating a club, so you guys can head over here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1214094/amd-apu-unofficial-owners-club
Mike, if you want to, we could both handle the club. I've got a lot of time in my hands since I self study

question for OCN seniors, do I have to get some mods permission or something to upgrade my thread to official?

How many of us have tried to overclock the non-black edition ones? Is it totally locked down like how Intel has the majority of their latest chips? I haven't had time to try OC'ing mine because I've been messing with the Linux distro installed on it.

Hey there, we might have the same build, but I haven't gotten the time to itemize my build. I am also rocking the same APU model and together with some members of the club have put together voltages and k10stat brainstorming on the past entries on this thread so just look for it. We're kinda locked down like you've said but you can still increase base clock and OC ram speeds together with that which really helps the iGPU perform better. The voltages provided by Doom3d is really helpful and kept my settings at stable. My 3300 is currently at 3.2ghz so you might wanna safely shoot for that.

I have a A6-3670K and a Gigabyte A55M-DS2 board. I was trying to overclock the GPU/IGX from 444 Mhz to 600 Mhz and undervolt it to -0.2V CPU core. I changed the settings in the BIOS, then save and exit. The system then failed to reboot - no hard disk activity, no display, just the fan and power led turned on. No beep code cuz my speaker is probably broken. I turned it off and on a few times but that didn't work.

Now, if I turn it off completely and wait for about 30 seconds, then it will usually turn on normally and can get into Windows. I went into BIOS again and removed the CPU core voltage mod but keep the 600Mhz GPU speed, but once again the system failed to boot properly. Eventually I gave up and just leave everything at default, which it works fine for a few days, without any "burn test" done yet.

Has anyone seen a similar problem like this?

Update to the F7c BIOS version if you haven't already, it's beta but it adds proper support for the A6-3670K so it might fix some of your issues. Also, be careful with that board it has a 3+1 phase power design and it's not meant for overclocking.

I was kind of worried about the beta BIOS. I guess I will wait for the stable release. I know it is a cheap board that is not designed for OC, but undervolting should be fine right? I just want to undervolt it a little while keeping stock CPU and 600Mhz GPU.
