[Vortez] NZXT Switch 810 Review - Page 25

From looking at the mounting hole locations in the front of the case, if two 120mm fans were installed, there would be quite a big gap between them. I don't believe there are standard rad mounting holes in the front, but a rad could be mounted using 4 of the 8 holes. So, if you were to install a 2x120 rad in the front, only holes for one "section" of the rad would line up with the Switch holes. For example, you would have to attach the rad with either the 4 screws for the top fan or the four screws for the bottom fan. This also means that the fan whose holes don't line up would have to be mounted on the backside of the rad toward the interior of the case (unless you wanted to drill holes). So, I'd mount the rad to the front with the top four screws, then mount both fans on the back side of the rad in a pull configuration.
The RX240 is 286mm tall, and there's room for two 140mm fans with vertical room to spare in the Switch. So with more than 280mm of height in the front of the Switch, I believe the RX240 will fit. However, I cannot confirm that.

Thanks for the information sir. smile.gif I got your explanation (i.e. was able to picture it out as you described). smile.gif You mean to say that I cannot install the rad this way:

2 pcs. 120mm Fans (pushing air inwards)->Case->Rad

...because the distance between two 120mm fans will be too far from each other, creating a distance between two fans (upon which, XSPC radiators only have 15mm distance between the screw holes so normally when you screw 120mm fans on them, the fans should lay literally beside each other with no distance)...unless I drill some holes so that I can still mount the rad with fans pushing air inwards (quite okay/manageable for me to do). Hence you are suggesting I install it like this:

Case->Rad->2 pcs. 120mm Fans (attached at the other side of the rad, pulling air from outside)

Yup, no worries on whether I can only go push or pull (i.e. not both), RX rads can afford not to have both push and pull so I'm all good and my intention anyway is to do a pull setup for the RX240. Worst-case, I can still mount the rad horizontally on the floor (although I already did this on my Cooler Master 690II Advanced so I'm interested in a different/new mounting style). Your radiator that you posted in your pictures...what brand is it? Is it also a 240mm? And the spacing in between screw holes of the rad, is it 15mm also like the XSPC rads?

Thanks also for measuring the RX240 vertically (at 286mm). If you will be so kind to confirm that there is at least the same clearance (or more) when mounted vertically, I am totally sold for this case. I just PM'd the NZXT Rep participating in this thread...I live in the Philippines so we are anticipating to see this case being sold on stores by end of the month. Enough time to prepare budget for the case. smile.gif

Yep, I think you understood what I was saying. Sounded kinda confusing as I was typing...

In my pics, I used a Swiftech 2x120mm QP rad. The only other rad I have is a 4x120mm... Yes, the Swiftech rads have 15mm hole spacing.

I got the 286mm from Jab-Tech, but on XSPC's website it actually says 280mm in height for the RX240. I know there's more than 280mm of room in the Switch by looking at my review pics. You'll have to ask the NZXT rep about clearance in the front, I shipped my Switch today, so I can't measure it for myself.

Do you want to use an ODD in the bay, or just the spot? If the later, then it's 90mm total space.

I don't have a caliper at home I'll need to measure clearances tomorrow. The absolute latest for the Switch 810 be available everywhere will be the end of February, but it should be available in most places around the world around the 10th of February.

Thanks Rob. Gives me time to get the rest of my parts in. Crossing my fingers I can get it sooner though!
