What is the Better Choice for Raptors

first off, this is bewteen the new 36.7 raptors and the 74 raptors

Im either going to buy 2 36's right now. Or by 1 74 and then buy another in like a month. When both are raided, how do they perform?

I mean, will 2x36's and 2x74's perform about the same?

If you can afford it get the 74, you get more storage. The speed difference wouldnt be worth it in my opinion.

right now, i have my OS, Apps, and the only 3 games i play at the moment(BF2, FEAR, CS) and ive only used up about 18 GB of space. So Im guessing 2x36's would fit me better, since I don't think I need more storage? I have a 250gb WD for movies/music/big files.

If thats what you can afford and you dont think you'll need more go for that then. Personally I would probably go all out and get bigger but thats me.

As a side note I think Vista requires a 40gb hard drive, but if its a Raid 0 that should cover it

The 74's have lower seek times.
Didn't you see that in the specs?

Looking at the specs. The seek times seem to be the same

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136054 - 36.7gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136033 - 74gb

Unless Im missing something?

Also, the Vista Requirement. How much space does vista itself take up compared to XP?

No, I did. It's the 8 MB cache drives are slower than the 16 MB cache drives.
