Question for my fellow DS3/S3 users

Did you guys need to disable, or even enable, any specific options to surpass 420FSB+ with stability on the DS3? Or did you guys just up the Vcore, VMCH, VFSB, and loosen ram timings accordingly, in order to reach high FSB speeds?

I've been hitting a wall around 420FSB. I thought the NB might of been overheating so I even replaced the heatsink with the Northpole XE, and still had the same FSB limitation.

I can, sometimes, boot at 420FSB, but once I begin testing for stability , with a dual run of SuperPi 32M, the system freezes within minutes.

What I've tried:
-Upping Vcore (1.35V to 1.45V)
-Upping Vdimm (2.1 to 2.3V)
-Loosening timings (4-4-4-12 to 5-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-15) (ruling out my G.Skill HZ's)
-Decreasing Multiplier to 6X instead of stock, 7X (which ruled out the CPU as being the problem)
-Disable many options recommended in this FAQ
-Using BIOS F2, F3, F4C, F4E, F5E, F5, and currently using F6

I'm about ready to just sell my DS3 and get a solid ASUS board, but I've seen so many success stories with this motherboard I am tempted to keep it.
BTW my motherboard is a C1 revision.

Don't get me wrong, I am very pleased with a 1Ghz OC, but I'm getting jealous reading through other user's success stories. Plus I really want to reach the big 3ghz on my C2D.

Bump, getting even more jealous seeing all the newer results with people easily reaching high FSB frequencies with the DS3.

Well I bought a cheap, ~$9USD, VGA PCI card off ebay. I heard rumors that booting with a VGA PCI card can allow you to overclock your FSB higher, and you can still use your PCI-E card.
Should get it installed a week from today, hope I can pass this WALL!

Yea I also didn't know about it, until I read this:

[Q] Do I really need a VGA PCI card to overclock?
[A] It depends what is making your system crappy. Sometimes it’s a VGA, sometimes it’s a mem, sometimes these are bios settings. My personal search was: BIOS, VGA, MEM, ordered like that, because changing settings in bios, costs nothing, buying VGA was like 10zl (~3$). Luckily I didn’t have to replace ram.
From the Gigabyte DS3 FAQ.
