Antec Nine Hundred - Page 2

Im not sure how good the airflow will actually be in this case. Granted its build kinda like a Armor however I just wonder how well that top fan is going to do. As in my Armor no hot air even reachs up there before my rear exhuast gets it outta there.

You can mount 3 120mm fans anywhere in the front for intake, you can move the 2 HD cages with the fan brackets up and down wherever you want. Then you can use another 120 fan as an intake on the side panel, directly over vid cards, and then the 120 exhaust on the back. Even without that huge fan on top the air flow looks better than my old case as I can feed air directly to the cpu cooler. Gonna get cracking later today with the case and post some pics.

Got her up and running, but I havent had time to do any good cable management and I just ordered some of that Coollaboratories Thermal Paste, so I don't have things in very tight. I've moved the first HDD bracket up top and put two 120 fans on it to provide direct air to the Scythe Ninja cooler, and left the other at the bottom. Setting it up like this that 2nd fan in the hd bracket is so close to the cpu cooler that I don't even need to put the fan that came with it on it.

Put my DVD drive and fan controller (needed one of these for all these fans, cheap 20 dollar Vantec one does the job nice) in between them as this is the area where the two GPU's are exhausting their hot air. In my last case the intake was basically blowing right into it and creating a sort of "dead zone", as shown below in my crude drawing. Core temp in speedfan is reporting 43C max under full load at 2.8Ghz as opposed to the Zalman with P180 doing about 49C for core temp, and the AS5 on the Ninja hasnt even had any time to cure at all. Looks like the Ninja is head and shoulders above the Zalman, but I knew that would be the case just by the size of it. Will post some pics in the morning of what it looks like now.

Alright here's some pics for how I have it setup right now. Cables are still a mess but this should be generally how it will look. 2 intake fans in front and exhaust on back (silverstones), 2 Antec Tricools, one on side 2nd at top as cpu cooler and that 200mm bad boy on top. Gonna be switching that silver dvd drive to a black one as well as it's kinda sticking out now that I see pictures of it lol. Do u guys think I should move that fan I have on that top hd bracket and attach it to the HS itself? The power cable going to the motherboard is kinda sitting there tho is the only problem and I'd have to mount it on the HS kinda sitting on it.

Oh I also picked up the DFI 590 board and ordered the x2 4800 chip ..... my gf is taking the asus board and the 4000. Strangest thing with my switching to dfi board uusing 4000 chip I get the same EXACT overclock out of it. Can do 280x10 no prob, but 281htt-290htt windows will freeze in a few moments if I don't start using a program and 300+ will not post no matter what I do. Do u guys think its the RAM or the CPU thats holding me back? Because I can pretty much rule out the mobo at this point. Guess I'll find out when the cpu gets here. Nice deal here from the NE btw. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103754

Also put that review up for the Nine Hundred, Duke .

Edit - Did some cable sleeving for the fans and added a lil blacklight for kicks.

sorry to reply to a old message,
but i have this case and was wondering were you put the hard-drive in it,
also what is the controller you have on the front, what fans etc does it control?
are the two fans on the front of your case different to the standard ones,
have you drilled through the motherboard plate in the case to put the wires through?
last question
is that the best way to put the front fans.

thanks
