Thread Starter
ok i am building yet another laptop...no suprise i strated with a dell (cuz they're cheap) i happens to have an intel 852/855 GM/GME mobo with integ. graphics (despite the rap they are really not bad with proper optimizing and ram). the mobo has the Ich-4-m mobile chipset in it and in the cpu socket a gleaming pentium 4 "northwood" 130nm process, this one actually has hyperthreadng i checked with intel, unlike my last laptop intel had answers!!! besides that i was wondering if that chipset supports hyperthreading and where might i find the driver if it does, it seems to be an issue that the intel mobile chipset update i installed did not however include this ability. all help will be greatly appreciated.

well i dont know whether there is a different between the northwoods in laptops and desktops, i have one and i updated the bios not to long ago and it still allowed me to use ht. i have it enabled. it might be a different case since this is a laptop. maybe they removed it to increase the battery life of the laptop. if worse comes to worse get a desktop socket 478 mobo and build urself another desktop that would take advantage of ht
