That is a full tower computer. The Alienware is a mini-ITX form factor.

Yup tongue.gif other than the graphics card and the fact that I have a true quad core it's pretty much the same.

I know the i3 has beaten the X4 965 in a load of test but my 955 was cheaper than any SB i3 at the time when I bought it.

I managed to put together an i3 2100 with 4gb ram, 500gb HDD & a 6850 for 500usd. However that price dosn't include the OS

The $699 model uses an Intel Core i3 microprocessor with a discrete Nvidia graphics card (the GeForce GT 545, upgradeable to a high-end GT 555 card)

High-end GT 555 card? Since when has that been high end??? rolleyes.gif

It is also much bigger as it is a micro-ATX build.

Sorry if i have to critique, but HDD isn't a direct comparison. A 1TB WD blue is around 130-150 at the moment.

-BD disk drive is unnecessary.
-The graphics card in your build is weaker.
-Your build is larger.

In the end the Alienware isn't as overpriced as a majority of this thread thinks.
