[VentureBeat] Alienware releases $699 Gaming PC - Page 32

Seriously, so many freaking posers here it's pathetic.

That would actually make it worse. The thing is, i don't deny you can game on it, and I'm not against a company making a profit but come on, theres a difference between profit margin and taking advantage of the customer. In a free market, free competition helps dictate the price, and with all the rest of the competition going about for barebone kits and other PC towers or "gaming rigs", this alienware just shouldn't even be present and thats why people feel its a rip off.

I wouldn't care if it had a Ferrari symbol with diamonds on it still wouldn't be worth it......

Alienware sucks for PCs. Their laptops are decent, but there are other competitors like Sager who offer better deals on laptops. I saw some pre-built rigs on Newegg that were quite a bit better than the alienware, for around the same price or cheaper.

Alienware is not worthy of being mentioned on OCN, It brings out the man flu.

There are better bundles on newegg that are actually cheaper, and the alienware with upgrades is 1200-1300$ so that in turn is a joke. im not being mean in anyway so don't take it that way just being informative.
newegg bundles
heres 2
1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.791295<--- comes with a 6850 and is 530.00

2.http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.810613 everything in this kit is better and is 654.00

And them are just 2 there are about 5 others that are better in comparison.

Here is your alienware pretty much minus a 100$ video card, and the cool looking cramped case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.753182<--- its 369
And for those saying the bundles dont come with a os you can get the same os alienware is gonna use on it for 99$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986<-- windows 7 oem

Why?
They will quickly learn that you cant upgrade these machines to anything worth while, and they will not over clock. (im sure they will get locked bios) - my computer in the meanwhile will be running circles around these NOT UPGRADABLE piles of rubbish.
This machine will be like getting your first gaming pc with training wheels. This will likely lead you down a path of wanting a custom built pc.
I am fine with it.
I managly read all posts who were complaints about the lower watt power supply & non-gradable. So some high-ended games runs New Xbox 360 S console that uses only a 135-watt power brick supply, Plus both PS3 and XBOX 360's hardware components which couldn't upgradeable , too..

whats your point?

Alienware H18 was so expensive!

but the X51 is a very true gaming rig and reasonable price.

i also do not think you are going to see these used any time soon for the same reason^.
Congrats! please let us know how turn it out asap when you play hi-ended games on your beautiful x51 rig.. biggrin.gif

good luck selling your overpriced worthless hardware to ignorant noobs who don't know better. sad that people are being misled and tricked, but thats how businesses make a profit when they can't provide actual value to their customers.

Oh yeah the max PSU watts for this computer is 330 tongue.gif

It opens it up for people too afraid or just unwilling to build their own rig. This is excellent news and gamers should applaud this movement. More PC gamers, at the end of the day, is a good thing. More titles will be developed for the PC which will draw more money into that market segment. More money means more potential for gorgeous games like Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, etc.
