Runs Crossfire in dual x8 mode, but difference is negligible.

This one does run x16, x16 in SLI mode, but it's nForce4, which means bad overclock on Intel platform:

cgrado: incorrect again. It's not the technology, it's the board. There are chipsets and motherboards that DO offer dual x16 bandwidth for Crossfire, like the (AMD platform) Asus A8R32 MVP Deluxe

Not many SLI boards are x16, x16 either...only the top end boards.

Let's hope DFI comes through with the new ATI chipset for Intel boards.

Finally, thre is no real difference in performance. No card even maxes out x8, x8 at the moment.

WHY AM I SO MISINFORMED ABOUT CROSSFIRE? o yeah, it's cause i have an Nvidia card and never pay attention to ATI cards really. well, from now on i will avoid all statements about crossfire.

Hahahaha no problem

At the moment, both platforms are mature, and in performance extremely close together. ATI even has a slight edge, since it offers a bit better image quality and the possibility of running AA and HDR simultaneously.

However, at this high end the differences are marginal.

To my understanding, most mid range / upper-mid range and lower cards don't even max out 4x. My motherboard has a 4x PCI-E slot and in a test I saw, a version of the Nvidia 7900 series card (can't remember which one...), was only 5% - 7% slower in benchmarks and FPS when running in a 4x slot, as compared with a 16x slot...

Highly-Annoyed
