I would rather get the evga 7600GT for $130USD, or if you budget permits, the XFX 7900GS for $200USD.

7600GT will beat out any 6xxx, including 6800 series, cards anyday.

If you plan to overclock, that board will hold you back big time! nForce4 based boards for the Intel platform do NOT overclock well at all!

I would get either one of those two boards:Personally, I'd pick the ASUS over the ABIT, since the ABIT will not have any available PCI slots if you use dual graphic cards

And I agree with ckp64 on the video card.

I agree with this statement.

You may want to check through the below link to see how each Core2Duo compatibal motherboard can have its FSB stretched. Needless to say, the nForce chipset performs poorly when compared to the Intel 965X and 975X.

the P4P800 series are among the best for overclocking socket 478 CPUs.

Have fun!

that asus board looks good and why not get a 7600 over a 68. i am trying to keep the budget low as possible but the prices will have gone down before i make my order, like 2-3 months to save up.

In 2-3 months, prices will have changed. Also, there will be new products on the market, so any picks you make now, you might want to reconsider. By that time, the first DX10 cards should be out....
