Correct I7 920 software- realtemp vs. Speedfan

Thread Starter
Hey guys!

Im really sorry if this question has been asked a million times before, but about 15 minutes of googling didn't seem to do the job. I just put a coolermaster v8 on my i7 920, and its running at 3724 mhz (max), speedstep etc is on.

So, at idle realtemp shows the temperatures as 30 31 32 29
Speedfan shows it as 40 40 41 41

So, in realtemp the tjmax is set at 95 degrees. When i loaded up prime 95 the temps went up to about 60 in realtemp and 70 in speedfan. So, realtemp shows 10 degrees less than speedfan.

70 degrees is not that good for only a 3,7 ghz overclock, so which software should i trust?

Thanks! biggrin.gif

I usually go by what realtemp / coretemp say. Sometimes, usually more often than not, speedfan or it's equivalent are wrong.
