You still haven't told us what screen size (resolution) you will be gaming with.

I think you will need more horsepower to max out games than adgamer's config. It's more like i5 2500k OCed with a P67 or Z68 motherboard paired with a nvidia GTX 570 in my opinion.

Want to max out everything that's to come in some time? i5 2500K, clock it at 4.5GHz, and get a 6GB HD7970. Pick 16 gigs of RAM. Good quality, 1866MHz CL8 at least. That'll get you sorted for let's say 4 years. My rig's gonna be 3 years old in three months and it still maxes out everything I throw to it, so 4 years for that monster should be no trouble wink.gif

Erm... He said he didn't want to spend too much.

An A8 3870k + 6670 will get some sort of playable frame rates and medium settings OK. Not the latest titles though.

That's actually a pretty small resolution. Radeon HD6850 should be enough to last for a couple years with high-end title.

Nvidia side are GTX460 1 GB and GTX560 1 GB. GTX 560 Ti is a higher-end card and more expensive.

1920 x 1080 is a different story. HD6870 for minimum, with HD6950 recommended.
