So I have a puny virtual machine running Server 2008 R2 that runs an incoming mail server, and syslog server process. Some update by windows makes the Domain group policy client wait forever and ever to login to the box, there fore, i can't get into the server. I never created other users, just made the administrator password, and walked away. Whenever I attempt to login, it starts, but the remote desktop will wait and wait and wait for the group policy client, and it never just times out. Left it for an hour, nothing. I've read that this isn't just limited to me, however most people got in with a local admin user. I never created one, so does anyone else know of a backdoor into the server I'm missing?
