All of my mice worked on it since at that time I only had mice with a high lift off distance.
I heard it's only a problem for mice with a low LoD or too thick mousefeet.
My g9x and deathadder had a considerably lower LoD on that mousepad than on any other mousepad.

May I ask how you like your Hien HARD? Is it so stiff that it feels like a hardpad?
Cheers!
Im not going to order them from outside europe again, so no shiden or shiden-kai for me.
shiden-kai was the one I actually wanted, but they were out of stock even in their japan headquarters.
So I got the Hien HARD instead.

I like it very much for a cloth pad, it's not comparable to a hardpad at all...
after all the surface is still some kind of soft cloth like structure.

The whole "hard" "middle" "soft" "xsoft" and "value edition"(the softest of all) stuff is only there for personal customization, just like the size of a mousepad.
It only refers to the foam, not the surface on top of it, so a HIEN hard has the same textured surface as a HIEN xsoft, just the foam beneath it is different.
same for all the other Artisan models.

from fast to slow: Shiden-Kai > Shiden > hayate > HiEN
the hardness also defines the speed, so a hard HIEN will be "faster" than a soft one.

But again, it's not like a hard plastic pad, imho the HIEN hard is faster than any other cloth mousepad except for the artisan pads mentioned above, but it's still slower than the slowest hard pad, comparable to my desk at best...

But in the end it combines some features of both worlds that just fit for my playing style.
It's quicker than normal cloth pads like a QCK. It's easier to start moving the mouse, the resistance isn't that high at movement beginnings, helps also when making small adjustements in aiming after doing fast swipes. Still it's nice and easy to accurately stop the mouse where you want it, so it's not too fast (like most hard pads are).
The only downside is that it's not as quiet as a cloth pad like a QCK, but still it isn't as loud as a hard plastic pad which kinda underlines my statement that it combines both worlds. thumb.gif

I had a G-TF non-speed version, I would rank it just beneath the HIEN hard when it comes to speed.

It was amazing at a first but it wears incredibly fast, dare I say faster than zowies swift hard plastic pads...
after a while the whole water protection thingy was gone and it soaked in water just like every other cloth pad, and shortly after that it began to slow down dramatically.
To make it acceptable I had to wipe it clean with a wet towel before starting to use it again.

On top of that there was a cosmetic issue... if you drive across the pad with something hard like the backside of your fingernail you could actually write on it.
It would produce white lines that were easily visible.
Every time something hard was moved across it, so even when I put my headset on it without being extremely careful.

It's a shame, I would probably prefer it over the HIEN if it wasnt for the bad durability... I liked the smooth edges and the speed loss is acceptable... the durability is not.

Try the speed version when you're tired of your hien, i had the same problems with the regular TF, I use the speed version since early december, so far so good smile.gif
