Hello OCN. I turn to you for computer advice once again. Like I do just about everytime I get my paycheck... So I currently have Xfired 1GB Xfx 6870's.(Sig Rig for more details) I want to currently MAX games out. This crossfire setup isn't doing it for me. My plan is to sell my 6870's and get ____________. You fill in the blank. I'm hoping to get a high end single card that I can later Xfire/Sli to kinda keep up later. At least in my head thats what I'm thinking. I thank you in advance.

Ive been looking at this thread, but want real opinions/ benches.

Side note: I know you have to be a certain rep on OCN to sell things, but how much do I need? Thanks thumb.gif

Yiipes 35! Well I won't be selling them here XD.

Yeah I've been eyeballing the 7970, but kinda want to try nvidia. Maybe a 580. and in near future SLI.

3 options pretty much

1. Amd 7970 or maybe 2 7950s Xfired (or hell if you have the cash a 7990)
2. Wait For Kepler and see where preformance is
3. Wait for Kepler to drive 580 Prices down and get at least 2 of the 3gb ones:thumb:

Kepler comes out...

get a 7970. you can always wait for the newest tech, but once kepler is released you could wait 6 months and get a 8970 that will beat that.

you'd be surprised how fast you can get reps if you spend some time helping in the community.

6870 Crossfire is more then enough for a 24" display. Just go into video settings and set everything to max except for the antialiasing, set "antialiasing deferred" to off, and "antialiasing post" to high, the visuals will be almost identical imho.

I get well over 60 fps with my 6850 crossfire clocked @ 900/1100 with these settings.. and I play @ 1920x1200 on a 28" display. Good luck. thumb.gif

Indeed. Whenever you are looking for a new vid card everyone says wait for the new generation card. I'm not a huge fan of waiting. So are we saying that the GTX 580 can not get the job done.

My graphics are great and my fps is fine, but this ocn where our motto is the pursuit of performance, and I'm just not happy with my 1gb 6870's. I originaly wanted to go eyefinity but I'm limited by my 1Gb cards because of the VRAM. So I feel the need to get a new card(s). Plus the Red in my blue case is throwing me off wink.gifthumb.gif
