A little numbness in my right hand, can anyone recommend a good gaming mouse and mousepad?

Hi,

Up until a few months ago I was using a Magic Mouse (which was fine) but I switched to a much smaller portable Logitech Bluetooth mouse because I needed to be able to press both mouse buttons at once in a game, and now after about a month or so the two fingers on the right of my right hand are going a little numb, and have pins and needles and I notice I get a little bit of pain when I'm using that mouse. (I don't know if there's a connection there or not, it could be referred pain in my neck or back, but I figure it's a possibility and I'll at least eliminate it.) I tried to switch back to the Magic Mouse after I finished the game, but I didn't like it as much. I'm using the Magic Mouse right now, in my left hand... that's going well -.- was in the middle of Deus Ex too, can't play it now lol

So, I'd like a recommendation for a good (wireless) gaming mouse and mousepad. I'll use the Magic Mouse in Mac OS X, but in Windows I'll use the gaming mouse.

Cheers

HI , first , for the numbness , i bet it is due to the size of the mouse , there is more weight on the wrist , which "suffocates" the nerves

headscratch.gif: i would suggest a cloth mousepad
-Razer Goliathus
-Steelseries QCK heavy

and as for the mouse i would look at the Logitech G700

Hope it helps thumb.gif

Oh really? Thanks a lot for that info, I never knew that.

The second mousepad looks pretty good... I'm not sure about the mouse though, I think it has too many buttons. I'd prefer something with less, even three (left right middle) is ideal. Thanks for the suggestions mate! smile.gif

That mouse looks pretty good but maybe a bit small and it's wired. I'll keep these models in mind when I go shopping for a mouse and see if I can try a few somehow. Thanks!

I can't recommend a mouse pad because I've never bought/needed one, but I will recommend the Razer DeathAdder. It's the most comfortable lightweight mouse I've ever used, way more comfortable than my RAT 7 (only chose RAT 7 to match keyboard LED lights, as well as nifty customizations).

I know you're looking for a wireless mouse, but if you can find any mice that resemble the DeathAdder, go for it!

Any cloth based mouse pad would work; I had a similar nerve numbness issue until I changed to a desk with a curved end. Try using a XFX warpad, if that isn't an option. Look into the G500/G700 for palm/claw grips, respectively.

I see, thanks for the advice! smile.gif

I also have a desk which is curved, how does that help to relieve the numbness?

Really? I see. My chair is as far down as it can go, I look down at the screen but only little. It's about six inches from my shoulder to my desk, and my elbow rests on the desk about half an inch from the edge. I could move my computer back further, and sit closer, would that help do you think? Thanks.
