So when watching YouTube videos about gameplay, what do you like better? Live commentaries or recorded gameplay then a voice over?

If you don't know what I am talking about, here are the two:

I prefer live commentary, just like you would see on a stream as well.

I agree. Live commentaries are so much interactive.

For me it depends on how good the person doing the commenting is. I've heard a lot of live commentary that I thought was terrible.

Absolutely live. Anything else isn't immerse.

Even if you hate your voice, just accept it, it's your voice biggrin.gif And who knows, others may like it.

Live commentaries for me as well, just feels more casual and "real".

I think it depends on the individual. Some just aren't capable of keeping the commentary interesting when playing live and the whole thing degenerates into farce. Others can pull it off. Ultimately people will come back if your videos are a) informative and b) entertaining. Take Elpressador on YouTube, the guy is a complete moron, total trailer trash, but..... His commentaries are hilarious because he is such a character and fool! I put a limbo clip on my channel of the first puzzle that most people slip up on. It's had a ton of hits for no other reason then it gets people out of a jam.

That's true, some people are just boring and some other people always seem to have something to say, informative or funny, which is what I personally enjoy the most. Take me for example, I would never do live commentaries cause I can barely chew gum and play at the same time (exaggeration but I really cant multitask when gaming).
