I doubt it has anything to do with your firewall. I suspect you just set it up wrong. Did you follow my guide or the one on this page?

& I wouldn't denounce your dislike for Linux... A lot of us. Including me using it daily.

i have it setup right i think, it sees it when i do the test connection just it reports 0% on all the clients but it does show the OS and -smp X that its running but it just doesnt show the bar move or what protien its working on and i also use linux daily but it doesnt make me like it anymore... same for OSX tongue.gif

edit: some clients show more details that other. guess its not a firewall issue but something stupid on this computer. thats what i get for having too many other things going on at work while i tinker with this. i might just leave it alone and check EOC for my stats.

As for the problem you're having getting your VM set up, I unfortunately don't know why that's happening... I guess I'll have to google it and see why it would have an error like that.

I swear. It's like people don't know how to read instructions.
If all these idiots on EVGA can get it done in Putty, why can't anyone here? rolleyes.gif

Srsly. Follow their guide. I tried it, and it worked.

And I tried it, I followed their guide, and it didn't work. I already know how to use SSH in Linux and I didn't feel like troubleshooting. There is no need to be rude to me just because something didn't work the first time I tried it and I tried something else. You need to calm down. OCN is supposed to be a fun site, and all you ever to is try to belittle people.

I'm glad you got it working. IDK what I did or didn't do that made it not work for me. tongue.gif

And I wouldn't call Linux a "turd of an OS." It's different, but it's not really any better or worse than Windows. In fact, I do like Linux better for some things.

i know, i just like to see people react wink.gif it sucks for daily use but it has its uses. i would never use it for anything that i couldnt just setup and walk away from. for some reason these things are reporting random crap. one has a credit of no bonus points but shows still 00% but when i log it its at 77%, not a clue whats going on with them monitoring side of things.

You might want to check out another link that I posted on how to fix the issue with HFM.
I posted it a few back, but if you can't find it. Then I can most certainly repost it.

IIRC Google "P7200 HFM" on Google and you'll probably find it as the first link.

its not that issue, i already updated the file. its something else. its really slow to update but they are coming in. i now have 1 of my clients reporting correctly but the others are wonky. maybe it will work out over time. i know the machines are folding and thats all that really matters. if they get shut down its not like i can go fix it anyways since they arent my servers biggrin.gif

I'd just give it about 3-4 hours and you'll probably see some progress etc.
I look at it like this, I'll fold on them while I can because it's free. If they shut down or die for any reason. No big deal. They were free. I couldn't complain.

Yeah, I did notice that in the AZ1 servers there was options for free disk space. I was thinking that they might be implementing you being able to load your own OS. Which wouldn't be too bad.

mbudden:
I had asked you a question about the apache setup error I was having in the other thread before we were asked to move the discussion to this thread.
This is what I am seeing when I restart apache after the file edit:

root@server-50089:~# nano /etc/apache2/sites-available/default
root@server-50089:~# service apache2 restart
* Restarting web server apache2 Warning: DocumentRoot [/fah] does not exist
... waiting Warning: DocumentRoot [/fah] does not exist
[ OK ]
root@server-50089:~#

Any help would be appreciated.
