Will a single 7970 push 1080p at 120 fps ?

Just wondering as I'm planning on doing some upgrading once I get my tax return. One of the things on my list is one of those Samsung monitors that have a 120 hz refresh rate. I'm not sure if I should get a 7970 or wait for a 7990. I'm pretty sure the 7990 could push a constant 120 but not sure about the 7970.

Money IS an issue as I'm not loaded and really with 2 children tax return time is almost the only time of the year I have a decent ammount of disposable income.

Thanks for any help smile.gif

Depends on the game, most games maxed out, it's going to be close, some games I.e. metro, nope, but then again, lots of setups won't :-)

I play all kinds of games really. Right now Star Wars the Old Republic and a couple other mmo's. Mainly I'd say I play MMO's the most followed by fps such as Battlefield 3. I'm going to be playing Diablo III and Guild Wars 2 probably as well.

Any good single player rpg I will play as well such as Skyrim and Mass Effect games. I also enjoy racing games and would like to get Dirt 3 once I get my pc built.

Sorry I know that's not much to narrow it down but I really play just about anything.
