My cpu don't got no pins, lol. My new rig is a lga775 E6600.

but yeah it's still a good idea for my older S478 cpu. I mean that thing is past warrenty ne ways but it has a TT big typhoon on it and rarely goes over 40C and the mobo cant OC at all...

Either 2000 grit + 2000 grit gives 4000, or 1000 grit. I'm not sure which one of them it is, but on of them it is

That's .... sanding sandpaper ?? Do people do that?

IME 2500 will yield a fine surface to shave in front of.

Seems to me that the grit is the grit. Particle size won't be ablated, merely removed? I dunno.
