Red Carbon - 7x120mm inside a Define mini! - Page 21

If I was to do it, I would be happy with only 3-4x120 of radiator. Where would you think the best place is to put them?

Put a 360 up top and a 120 in front maybe. You could keep the case pretty much stock and put two 120's on either of the fans for the HDD's, that's if you're not using any HDD's.

Either 360 or 360+240

Yeah I could probably get by without HDD's. The 360+240 sounds enticing. What kind of modding would that entail?

You'd need to buy a 360 radgrill and dremel the top, the front 240 is easy because the cut out is pretty much already there, you just needa drill some holes to secure the rad grill with.

240 in the front I can't push enough for the front, it was like it was made specifically for one.

Ok thanks, here's some rep for you! A couple questions. I'm assuming I'll lose all of the 3.5" drive bays, which is no big deal. What kind of thickness on the rads are you thinking? I would like to have 1 5.25" bay left.

I'm using the EX series from XSPC. They're about 35mm (35.5mm) thick radiators and with a fan that knocks it up to 60mm. I can't exactly tell you what the clearances are but if you want to keep the 5.25" bays, I'd put a 240 in the front, a 240 up top and a 120mm down the bottom. That way you obstruct nothing apart from the hard drives. Also when (and if) you cut the top radiator be sure to have the radiator before hand. It makes measuring and making sure clearances pass sooooooo much easier. Trust me thumb.gif

Another thing you could do is have the 360 up top, put it case-radiator-fan. This way you could just have a fan not in the section where the rad fouls the 5.25's. That's only using 2 120mm fans though so you might as well just go for a 240 up top and stick like a pump/res bay in the two bays or use whatever you want up there.

Hope I helped wave2.gif

Wouldn't that be good! I'm scanning the forsales sections for 7970's and 680's but so far all the 7970's are crazy cheap (like 200$ cheaper than back home at least) so I'm very very tempted.

Well if you need someone in the US to ship you something (I think things are cheaper over here), I'd be happy to help you out.

That's a mighty fine offer but I've got my girlfriend to do that for me if I get desperate enough grouphug.gif

But yes, things are crazy cheaper in the US.
