On a serious note, I'd like to see some practical controller vs. mouse testing, as in a Youtube video. Not to prove someone wrong, but more like neutral, scientific testing to see how effective both peripherals work, what's their weakness and such. I'm not talking about sort of pro-gamers, just such that always play with their input device and are really good at it.
Youtube got some results, gonna see if there's something interesting.
I have to say though, I've been watching console FPS videos and sometimes had hard times to make out whether a mouse or controller were in use, which speaks for the controller gamers skill. Guess some people can be really good with it, though I remain a bit skeptical.
Okay, so I've seen some vids. One guy played CoD PC with both, controller and mouse. He did impressively well with the controller (I guess against mouse users) and ranked quite high, but he made the same amount of kills in half the time with the mouse.
It is just a matter of fact that it is easier to be accurate with the mouse and thus you're naturally faster and better. Some people use only controller and can't handle the mouse, others, such as myself, can't do well with a controller (and see no reason to keep trying), so these people wouldn't be part of an accurate equation, but gamers who are good with both input devices, clearly, are better with the mouse.
What does it prove? Me right, lol... no it doesn't really prove much. Use whatever you like and prefer, nothing should hold you back, but be real.
