I haven't changed voltage on 4.2 ghz from 1.2 though. Will try 1.25 see if it helps

Great success 4.5 on 1.285v
only problem is that vcore jumps to 1.440v during benchmarks not games though and the temp during intel burn in is 79 after 10 seconds.
i have vcore manually set in bios no offset
***???

OK I did that and turned it down to High and CPu capability to 120% it's still comes up as high as 1.360 under load and my temps are up to 73C. How can I lock the voltage on a vcore ? or should I use offset

LLC should be on 2 for that board..IF it works..i had to set mine on 1 with the Ex3..
set all power limits to 220
vtt @ 1.12
cpu pll @ 1.835
enable pll overvoltage then set the overvoltage amount to .012
offset your vcore voltage til it holds @ 1.37

good for you thumb.gif got my computer to boot a couple times with 4.2Ghz but wasn't stable in the slightest. 4.1Ghz runs fine all day long though whatever i do. have tried using each stick of ram individually and done all the other things suggested in this thread and in the guide that was linked. just can't get past 4.1Ghz! i'd bet money that no one can help me get mine to 4.5Ghz! feel a bit cheated after all i'd read about these cpu's and all the money i just dished out to upgrade from my amd 955 to the all mighty intel 2500k. still a good cpu but i feel like i may have well just saved some money and got the non "k" version and a cheaper motherboard. now i got to sort out this problem where it keeps clocking down under load.

if anyone does have any more suggestions then im listening! although the thought that i simply have a crap overclocker of a 2500k is starting to sink in, i haven't completely given up yet!
thanks for everyone's advice so far rolleyes.gif
