if anyone does have any more suggestions then im listening! although the thought that i simply have a crap overclocker of a 2500k is starting to sink in, i haven't completely given up yet!
thanks for everyone's advice so far rolleyes.gif

Have you tried just jumping to 4.5 Ghz? Maybe your chip just does not like 4.3. Try multiplier at 45 and a vcore manual 1.35v. with med/high LLC.

yeh i did have the same thought as you although that seems very unlikely to be the case. i have tried that a couple times but not many tbh. i'll give that a go next time i try!

well instead of betting - i'll pay £5 to the person that can help me get my 2500k stable at 4.5Ghz without some crazy unsafe voltages. im talkin like 1.4V on the CPU Core max. sorry i would offer more people but i dont have much money!

Also ive copied and pasted part of one of my posts in another thread for info here as its relevant:

Tried each stick of ram individually and tried all the things suggested about settings - no luck. i have noticed something i didn't think to much about before which could be something here. normally when you change some bios settings then save and exit, the computer restarts and you get the bios beep. whenever i go for a 4.3Ghz overclock that doesn't happen. the signal to the screen just goes and my mouse and keyboard turn off but the computer doesn't restart. the bios code usually shows "70", sometimes "60". 60 = DXE Core is started and 70 = South Bridge DXE Initilization is started.if i force the computer to shut down and turn the psu off for a few minutes, then turn it back on i can get back into the bios (keep in mind this shouldn't have reset anything because i haven't cleared the cmos). when i get back into the bios the cpu clock will be at what it was before i set it to 4.3Ghz.. So basically it fails to set the cpu clock to 4.3Ghz and just freezes without saving the settings to the bios. i thought when you changed settings in the bios they weren't applied until the computer was actually restarted, so wondering why its crashing before thats happened... what do you make of this?

Do you have TeamViewer?

If you can download that, and install your software to view your BIOs settings in OS I'll be more than happy to take a look at your settings and try to get you stable. Or at least get you booted into Windows.

Just shoot me a PM.

i have tried that apart from upping the ram voltage. why do you suggest upping ram voltage, did it work for you?
