Need new case suggestions

Thread Starter
I am looking for a new case, I will not be water cooling so the case does not need to support that. I have a d-14 so that also has to fit. I would like to keep the price under 300. I prefer a good balance of silence and performance (stock fans do not have to be good i have a pretty large stash of noctua fans). Some cable management is nice though as long as there is some space behind the motherboard ill be fine. Just have one hard drive and one disc drive and do not have plans for more. I was looking at some lian li cases, some of witch do not seem to give enough places for fans and air movement and others tend to have 140mm fans, which is kind of annoying because i find that p-12s have a better cfm/db ratio than the p-14 though i was looking at some couger fans that looked pretty promising. Does anyone have any experience with the 140mm version of those?

Anyway thank you in advance for all suggestions that i receive.

Consider Corsair 600T, and Corsair 650D.

Edit: Bitfenix has a new case coming soon called Shinobi XL. It looks promising. smile.gif

I liked the Ft-o2 however i was reading about them having paint issues (them arriving damaged and the paint chipping off easily). Not something i want for $250 have you heard of this issue? As for the temjin, not enough fans for the cooling performance i want.

Looked at the 600-650 series of corsair and my only gripe is the side panel latches are ugly imo

As for the Shinobi XL do you know when this is going to be released? Also does being able to fit a 360 rad in front mean i can have 3 120mm intakes?

I recently got the FT02 from Amazon and I have had those issues, I don't think I will be keeping it. I read about the chipping and other issues on Hardforum but got it anyways, just to try it.

It has great airflow but it's hard for me to justify the cost when the metal (on both sides, top, and interior) is so prone to chipping. If only they finished the
Job with all aluminum.

It'll hit shelves sometime Mid February/Early March
It does have 3x 120mm intakes smile.gif

Can you tell me what it is priced at? I was hoping to get one at the end of the month but i guess i can wait as that case seems to suit all of my needs. Also where do the intakes pull air from? There does not appear to be much mesh to account for so much airflow.

I ordered one for my wife from NCIX USA yesterday for $221. I would contact Silverstone and let them know about your problems. I read Hardforums thread and people are more than happy with Fortress.

Search "chipping" in the FT02 thread on that forum and you will see what I mean. I thought the same thing as you when reading that, "It's no problem, it might have been a bad batch or something." If you read my thread, there are other minor issues as well.

I personally don't think that the case is durable enough, and that the paint on the non-aluminum parts has a high possibility of chipping.

Enjoy the case though, I hope you don't face any problems.
