First Bulldozer Build

Hey everyone so one of my older computers decided to die on me, so I decided that it was about time to invest into a nice inexpensive gaming computer mainly to play Star Wars: The Old Republic. I eventually decided to go with the FX-8120 and give AMD a chance and see what I could get out this little Processor. Below are the specs of the computer I built and a few pictures of my process. I have to say that I am super pleased with the performance and quality of the build I created. Please if you have any other suggestions let me know!

Specs of my Bulldozer:

1. AMD FX-8120 OC' @ 4.01 GHz at approx. 1.3v
2. Samsung 64GB SSD
3. Sapphire HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 (Which i'm about to start overclocking to get more performance out of it)
4. Western Digital 1TB HD
5. ASUS M597A Motherboard (Eventually will update to the Sabertooth FX990)
6. Corsair H80 Watercooling
7. Corsair 600 Watt Builder's Edition PS
8. 8GB RipJaw DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz
9. Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
10. Antec 300 ATX Case

Here are some pictures of it put together with an H60 Corsair, I decided shortly after it being installed that I wanted a bit more performance from my Watercooling system.

Here is the outside of the Antec 300 case.

After getting my Corsair H80 in today and my new Samsung 64GB SSD I decided to clean up everything and make it look a bit better.

Your Psu is facing upwards i would recommend u to revert it. the Psu will have effects if u keep in in the current position, i.e. it takes in the hot air inside the psu which may lead to reduction in the Efficiency
of the PSu in a long run here this should help

here ref this

and ur motherboard i wont recommend u to overclock a 8 cored CPU on it, its a 4+2 Phases motherboard

Good Good Good! A AMD Build taken seriously! I have heard that with a H80 you can take that thing up to 4.8 Ghz on the H100, so probably around 4.4-4.6 Ghz.?! I love your build I would of recommending to buy the saber-tooth to make life easier, then go Rambo and get 4 580s (just kidding only the Cross-hair V Formulas, saber-tooth only allows 3 but that is fine with me)! I recommend to stress test your rig play some Shogun 2, they are coming out with a new one but the old on probably has more intense battles. I mean 1,600 programs acting on their own attack will stress test a rig.

Thanks for the input, I am currently looking at changing the motherboard out for the sabertooth. I was also thinking of doing a 6970 as well.

Awesome, I will look into turning over my powersupply in order to increase the life of the PSU. Thanks for the input!

The only thing is that the 300 does not have ventilation on the underside of the PSU area like the case he had pictured did (I think it was a fractal R3). If you wanted to turn your PSU over you'd need to cut in the ventilation yourself. I'd add in a dust screen as well if you did that.

This is correct, the Three Hundred does not have a PSU vent.
