I will say this though: the ball is in Amd's court. They need to come out swinging and REALLY convince me that driver support is a priority this time around.

6990 is still this gen card seeing that 7990 is not out yet.

I know 3 people who own 6990's that have no problems with theirs so maybe its the cards themselves. Dont know. Also 6990 is CF and CF will always have issues. Doesnt matter if the driver has been updated for years. Drivers will never be perfect. This needs to be understood.

I have used 6990 myself and no problems whatsoever.

I am not supporting AMD. I am supporting the fact of all new hardware has driver issues and that drivers will never be 100% perfect. I am just saying that you have to understand when buying new products there is a high probablility that there will be compatibility issues.

Well, maybe it was, lol. How do you drop over 1k on gfx cards and then return them barely a week after release because drivers aren't performing? This is AMD we're talking about here. Surely you didn't expect flawless drivers out of the gate? Not implying that the consumer doesn't deserve that, but really, what did you expect?
Drive issues were not the deciding factor. My original plan was to wait for non-reference designs of the 7970 or the first release of Kepler. It's amazing how everyone around here makes assumption like they know every gosh darn thing. I tried it and felt I should've stuck to my original plan, so I sent them back. Plain and simple.
