77W TDP isn't good
The IPC is the same
2800MHz, Bulldozer IMC can go up to 2400MHz even to 3200MHz if you wanted to( http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/4357/amd_fx_8150_bulldozer_2600mhz_ddr_ram_overclocking/index.html )
10% increase is a small increase compared to Zambezi and Vishera
iGPU still doesn't beat AMD Counterparts
~Same price probably means they couldn't get yields up...which means there will be less good dies than bad dies

Does not seem legit to me.
2 days of testing and no screenshot. 6 lines of text that could been written by 10 year old.

How is a lower TDP not good? BD already eats twice as much power as SB as it is. This makes the disparity even worse, especially considering the CPU performance gap.
The IPC IS improved.
SB can do 2400Mhz as well, your point?
10% is great on a Tick. Haswell's Tock will be where huge improvements are shown.
Beats Llano and has a vastly more powerful CPU which is a win for laptops
Your made up speculations isn't relevant to the real world.

Really? I'm interested in some proof, ivy bridge having a good GPU that beats llano that is.

I'm waiting to see some solid numbers from Ivy Bridge. If I'm going to upgrade from my i7 870, performance needs to be at least 35% better at stock. I'm not going to upgrade to save 1 second in an application I'm never going to use. As it stands, the only reason I've been thinking about upgrading are the added PCI-E lanes and other features (such as USB 3.0 and SATA/6GB). I might wait until the next round of Intel CPUs to see what they can conjure up, and hopefully bring in a new chipset that supports all the latest and greatest.

I've read in other articles about PCIE 3.0 having cleaned up some previous muck found in PCIE 2.0. Aparently the PCIE 2.0 had some 20% overhead in transfer where the PCIE 3.0 has roughly 2%. Don't know what that will do for vid cards by simply switching over to 3.0 but at least there's some hope in getting some other upgrades for the cost of a new proc (assuming you have a pcie 3.0 mobo already)

I'm also hoping it is not a final production ready proc, or maybe not a good pick from the bunch, but one could wish. I personally will probably be picking up the 3770k which would help with hyperthreading, increased ondie graphics processing (encoding) and PCIE 3.0 overhead reductions.

Uhhhh... doubt it.

Although it doesn't seem to be the second coming of christ either. I admit, I had my hopes up for something a little bit better than what that article reported, but no matter.

Now, rather than upgrading CPUs, I'll just drop even more money on Kepler thumb.gif

That article is bullcrap without any evidence whatsoever. Lets wait till it will come out and real tester will post reviews.
On a side note upgrade or not will be dependent of real need of that CPU. Who needs 0.5 seconds faster boot time for 500$?

All I want to see is an unlocked dual core with hyperthreading.
