That board would be perfect if it wasn't a micro. I have a giant Zalman cnps9900nt and I have a feeling there would be issues with clearing the ram.

Well I hope you guys are right! I'll look into that asrock board and I hope the price isn't too good to be true.

I'm a big fan of Asus boards and have a P8Z68-V/Gen3 which is around $180 and does both SLI and Crossfire (incase I ever switch GPU brands). Just make sure to get a Gen3 board for some future proof on the next generation of GPUs.

if you have the extra cash go for the asr ext 4 gen 3 that seems to be the one that every1 is using right next to the ext 3 gen 3. I don't go the budget way cause I like all the bells and whistles but in my last build wish I hadn't. I went bulldozer and man what a mistake that was! considering I have to save for every part I buy? I ended up junking the FX8120 finding out my 1100T performs as good or better. So I now have my new i7 2700k sitting here waiting patiently for its new home which will be an asr Fatal1ty z68 pro gen 3, I'm gonna get it in a couple of weeks hopefully or if by then I can't find 1 will get ext 7 gen 3.

Case Closed, Next Question.

LOL.

On a serious note, i have been disappointed with ASUS QC recently so i would recommend against it.

Gotta drop a plug for my ASRock Extreme4 Gen3. Supports SLI/CFire, and overclocks pretty well. I've only pushed my 2500k to 4.5 on this board, but so far my voltages are awesome. Can't go wrong with this board IMO

Well I'm currently running my i5 2500k at a 4739.5MHZ with a 1.44 voltage on an ASUS p8zp86-v lx board. So I do plan on doing quite a bit of overclocking. I could even push my cpu to 4.8G with my current cooler but I'm gonna wait for a new board.

ASUS P8P67 PRO, EVO or P8Z68-V/Gen3 or P8Z68-V PRO/Gen3. Those seems to be the more popular boards, and gives alot bang for buck. All of them supports both crossfire and SLI.

I really like my Gene-z/Gen3. I was also concerned about the space ... I'll show you why thumb.gif
