Hdr + Aa ????

Ok, so I have 7900GTX's...running 91.XX drivers. I just finished downloading the Dark Messiah demo and finished playing it. Of course, I enabled HDR instead of AA (The HDR effects in Dark Messiah are pretty good BTW).

So, as I'm playing I noticed something, no jaggies. Anywhere. I rechecked the settings. No AA is active. The HDR effects are OBVIOUSLY enabled. Why am I seeing AA effects as well?

1280 x 1024. I run 3dmark06 in that resolution and the lack of AA is obvious. So, I should easily see the lack of AA in this game as well.

I'm thinking Nvidia includes AA in it's HDR function. Soft textures don't explain how the corners of buildings are not Aliasing.

I did find this comment on some message board:

"There are only 3 games that have the so-called "true" HDR lighting (GRAW, Oblivion, and CoJ). Everything else is "fake". Fake looks just as good as normal. "

They are saying that the HDR option box does not necessarily imply hardware accelerated HDR LIGHTING which only ATI supports. So, maybe Dark Messiah is fliping on the "fake" HDR method and using AA at the same time?

Well its based on the source engine from Valve, CS:S and HL2:Lost Coast onwards are capable of running HDR+AA since the implementation of HDR is likely to be based on SM2.0 instead of SM3.0 which those "true" HDR games are.

Yeah, The same thing happens with lots of other games like hal-life 2, when you don't even have HDR on and your running at 1280 x 1024 resolution it gets rid of all the jaggies. I figure because graphics aren't shurnken down to a small resolution making the pixels bigger.
