Check his Twitter account, he links that article after he says GK104 vs HD 7970 in the same tweet.

I just cancelled my order for a Gigabyte HD7970 and the Accelero Xtreme 7970.ph34r-smiley.gif
In total I'd have to pay about 880$ for the card and the cooler. As I was already feeling a bit ambivalent about the purchase. I'll rather go for a low end card right now and wait out this (current) battle between AMD and Nvidia. At least until I get a bit more information (i.e. reviews).

This might be a bit "hysterical", and I know that if I start waiting I can end up never purchasing anything. But this is going to be a big investement and I need to know a bit more. Hopefully by april-may I'll know enough to choose.

It's never a bad idea to wait until all competitors have shown what they can do with the latest architecture.
Many people held off buying Sandy Bridge because they wanted AMD to show their side of the competition with the 32nm process (I'm sure most of them have made up their minds now tongue.gif).

So I would definitely wait and see what nVidia can do with the 28nm process - it could be amazing, it could be a flop, or it could be neck-and-neck which results in better competition. All the more better for us consumers!

Go go both sides biggrin.gif

I agree 100%.
More competition in a market equals betters deals for the consumer. If I just wait for a couple of months I'll probably save alot of money (no matter what brand I end up buying). Now I just have to wait... tiredsmiley.gif

5) Nv marketing are scumbags, they did this same type of internet hype crap with Fermi 9 months before release
6) Nv said they would double 5870 performance, did that happen NO
7) Nv marketing are FOS
Okay whew. All that said if its good i'll buy it. I have a feeling that its either really good or really terrbile (and hence Charlie trolling based on that)
This reeks of scumbag NV marketing all over again. They did the SAME CRAP with Fermi. "Fermi gtx 480 will double the performance of 5870"!! rolleyes.gif Oh hey guys the woodscrews fermi is ready ! (10 months later) GTX 480 is released, 15% faster than 5870. Whatever.

LOL when did NVIDIA ever say it would be twice as fast?

When did NVIDIA ever hype their card 9 months in advance? You realize that the 5870 was only released 6 months prior to the GTX 480, right? So you're saying they were hyping Fermi even before they new what the competition brought to the table? Sorry, you're wrong.
