Building a computer atm... issue?

Thread Starter
The standoff in the bottom right attached to the screw... So when I tried to unscrew the mobo, the standoff came with it. I managed to get it screwed back in, but if I wiggle the mobo... It moves very slightly. It's the ASrock extreme3 gen3 so it's slightly smaller than a standard mobo... I figured that had to do with it? I'm also using the flat screws and I assume they are fine.

So your screw is tight in the standoff but the standoff is loose in the case?

I would take the board back out, remove the standoff from the screw using the small hex/phillips adaptor that came with your case? (if you got one) and a second screwdriver. then make sure all your standoffs are tight in the case before screwing your mobo down. shouldnt have to screw them down ridiculously tight either, just get them nice and firm.

i generally tighten the hell out of the standoffs and lightly tighten the motherboard bolt.

a corsair R400 came with a standoff screw driver adapter thing. very useful.
