Monitor connection on S23A750D to 580s

I was wondering if this cable would work to connect 3 of these monitors

I have 2 GTX 580s (3GB) to connect them to and looking to just use the standard DVI ports.

Thanks

I'm fairly sure those cables only work in the DisplayPort to DVI direction, not the other way around. If you want DVI to displayport, you'll need an active adapter. Otherwise, you could use a DVI to HDMI cable, but you won't get 120hz then.

If you must use the Samsung S23A750D (vs 700D), then you can use the Atlona AT-DP400 cable (Dual Link DVI to mini DP).  The Dual Link end goes to your GTX580.  You will also need the Atlona AT13021-2 (mini DP to DP) cabe so that you can plug the DP end to the monitor.

AT-DP400 product link: http://www.atlona.com/Atlona-Dual-Link-DVI-to-Mini-DisplayPort-Converter-USB-Powered.html

AT13021-2 product link: http://www.atlona.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1

Amazon sells the DP400 for US$80: http://www.amazon.com/AT-DP400-Displayport-Converter-Designed-Convert/dp/B003CWEXWO

Amazon sells the Atlona AT13021-2 for US$25 : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0059CN7NG/ref=asc_df_B0059CN7NG1868298?smid=A198ADCWQ8LTXN&tag=shopzilla_mp_1108-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B0059CN7NG

It is an expensive cable but it gets the job done if you have to have the 750D.

Actually, there are 3 versions.  In addition to 700D and 750D, there is 950D.  Their support stand and frame looks a little bit difference but essentially the same monitor with various inputs.

700D: dual link DVI and HDMI inputs

750D: DP and HDMI inputs

950D: DP, HDMI and dual link DVI inputs

So, you might consider the S23A950D for its dual link DVI input.  The 950D has the thinnest bezel as well.  Because of a wider variety of inputs and the thin bezel, it sells more than the other 2 versions.  But then, you only need to use dual link DVI cables.

The Atlona doesn't do 120Hz.

The DP-400 does work 120Hz.  Click into the reference link and see that it works for someone with S23A750D.

In addition, Atlona offers 30-day money back guarantee if 120Hz does not work (at least in Australia).

Ya i knew about the 950 but I don't see it possible to wall mount that with that crazy huge stand... I have seen that stand in person and I cant stand it. plus it is over a $100 more for nothing imo

I think if I do it I will go with the 700D but I have to sell my 30"er 1st and I still am looking for ways to wall mount the 700D because it doesnt comes with any type of wall mount. but I am sure I can come up with something.

Thanks
