W: Failed to fetch gzip:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_oneiric_universe_i18n_Translation-en Encountered a section with no Package: header

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

well, that pachage name doesn't look correct. The Apt-get program literally goes to a website to get those files, and does a http transaction to download the lists. Why that entry has a bunch of underscores in stead of slashes is beyond me. could you copy your /etc/apt/sources.list file into a code snippet?

The file exists on the server, however I'm not sure why this error is occurring. How many times has this occurred? Have you tried again?
