Seasonic 1000w Platinum DOA

Very saddly i recived my new "best in the world" seasonic psu dead. After hours of getting the pc set up and rewired and started up for thirty mins it died. Power to the gpu still (led on gpu are green) also power at the usb and attached components work fine but the pc will not fire up now. After hours of trouble shooting in desporation i pluged in my old psu to just see. Low and behold it fired right up, no problems at all. Glad to know its not the mobo aleast. Still most frustrating that now i need to pay for return shipping and down time as i have to wait.

Just wanted to post in in case anyone else has had this psu crapout on you too also to get a record of this psu being defective for others to see when looking for a replacment psu for them selfs. Ive not heard of another seasonic 1000w platinum being shipped doa, guess i got lucky...............tongue.gif

$300+ and now im waiting and have another shipping fee.

Also note this psu will NOT cover any damage to other parts in your pc if it frys them because its defective. I only found this out when reading the manual. In no reviews (all ranting this to be the best) did they ever mention this. I know that there are many other manufactures that will replace components that are damaged by their faulty psu but not this expensive one, they hold no responsibility for any damage caused. Just wanted to add that cause its warranttied for 7 years so cross your fingers for seven years of non faulty psu lol.

It's the nature of the beast. Enjoy your pc when you get your new one.

yes, it fails when load is put to it. I picked a 1000w as i want another 580 later. Seasonic 1000w platinum is said to be the best psu ever.

PS my matrix 580 will suck 650w when oc and overvolted to 950core@1.150v

I oc to 1027core and 1.293v thumb.gif

So I advanced RNA and my replacement will be shipped today. Ncix is so wonderful to deal with. No return shipping costs either woot.

I'd say the Superflower 1kW platinum units are superior to the SeaSonic. But the difference is small enough you wouldn't notice.

the superflower/kingwin unit is also 30 bob cheaper @ newegg
