[Official] NVIDIA GPU Mod Club - AKA "The Mod" - Page 127

930mhz is not too bad, what voltage does that require though?

My GTX 580 will happily do 950mhz on 1.138v, 980mhz on 1.150v and 1000mhz on 1.175v and temps still below 60c even with the 1ghz overclock now ive fitted a gentle typhoon to my radiator.

I do have the asus direct cu card though which uses a custom PCB and awsome quality components. It varies from card to card. I think 1000mhz core for a GTX 580 is pretty insane though!

Why not spend a mere 5 or 6 dollars more and simply get a bracket? Much more secure and solid mount.

Just found that PM'd him. Similarly it is worth mounting the fan on the side for VRM cooling eh? tongue.gif

Pretty simple mod right, very straight forward? If so, I'm down and out, just ready to update when my baby when its done!

I had a fan blowing into the sides of my cards (same as yours even, Core 448 FTW) before I got my brackets from Dwood. You can see it here.

But I have since gotten Dwoods brackets and moved to a different case. Now I just have two slim 80mm fans blowing directly onto the cards. So far no issues but I have no easy way of checking VRM temps so I don't know which one was more effective.

I got the bracket that has the fan mount (I use 92mm fan) and simply left the VRM cooling plate mounted on my 580 ... have had no issues a 980mhz or core.
