Are you talkin about this, how the heatsinks won't fit underneath the dwood bracket and cooler.

Just do what I did. Take Rotary Tool to it and cut. thumb.gif

Ya i see that now tongue.gif

Well either way, that doesnt look like the same clearance as what I would expect from one of Dwoods brackets. Im not worried about the side to side clearance, Im more worried about to height of the heatsink.

I'm using Dwood's Bracket. You should have the exact amount of clearance I got.

Hmm. Ok. TY smile.gif

I dont have my bracket delivered yet Im only going by pictures. Thought there was a lot less clearance though.

Guess Ill wait and see what it looks like once I actually have it.

No problem, they do sell shorter heatsinks but I didn't want to take the chance so I just cut the ones I got from my Arctic Accerlo Xtreme Plus. Works perfect, heatsink covers the whole VRAM chip.

The card in the pictures above is my gtx 670 4 gb. All you need is the bracket from Dwood or Zip ties depending on what method you use. Heatsinks or optional but I recommend using them.

I just created an account just so I could say I just did this mod tonight! I removed the IHS on my PNY GTX 560 and used the zip tie method with a Kuhler 620. My Idles are @ 25c - 27c.

I ran FurMark with resolution 2048x1152, 8x MSAA, Dynamic background, Burn-in, Xtreme burn-in, and Post-FX for 8 minutes and the max temp I hit was 43c but before it finished it leveled out back down between 40-41c.

I havent tried any gaming yet. Ive been playing Skyrim maxed out and running ENB graphics and some Saints Row 3. Im sure they wont do much more to it from what other peeps are saying. Guess Im about to find out.
